We all love our family but sometimes we don’t get along or agree and end up saying things to hurt each other. Family therapy involves facilitating effective communication.Arguments can impact the family bonds causing members to isolate from each other. This can lead to unhealthy sibling rivalries and alliances. Therapy can provide a safe un-biased place for you to openly discuss the issues and start to hear one another again. The therapist will discuss your concerns as a family and help you develop the skill to use at home and away from therapy to get your family back communicating in a positive way.

The goal for family therapy is to help reduce past and present issues, improve communication skills, and increase the health of the family. Sessions focus on listening skills, we examine the family environment to better understand the family dynamics.

What is your typical process for working with a new clients?

Once you let us know you would like to start services. You will receive a call to set an appointment date and time. After that call you will receive a welcome email with the initial paperwork and my phone number in case you need to reschedule prior to the appointment. Next, show up for your appointment with the initial paperwork and a photo id and insurance card if you are using insurance. The initial session is to gather some history about you and delve a bit deeper into what it is you would like to work on in therapy. At the end of the first session you can schedule the next session or determine if you would like to make it a weekly/bi-weekly or monthly recurring session.

Insurance co-pay or session charge is usually collected at the end of the session.
