Sara Marx

LCPC

I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) and a National Certified Counselor (NCC). I received my Master’s Degree in Counseling Psychology with a specialization in Forensic Psychology from the Adler School of Professional Psychology.

In my years of practice, I worked with populations from children to senior citizens, and in a multitude of settings, including emergency shelters, community clinics, schools, and inpatient. I have experience working with children and adolescents with ADHD, anger issues, PTSD, physical and sexual abuse, and disruptive behaviors. I have worked with individuals struggling with depression, anxiety, bipolar, substance abuse, grief, life transitions, employment concerns, relationship issues, and stress management. I have a special interest in caregivers and individuals suffering with chronic illnesses.

My counseling style is open and collaborative, and I work to establish rapport with my clients. I am an Adlerian by training but utilize an integrative approach to deliver a unique treatment plan for every client. I am non-judgmental, but I will challenge you to help with your growth and resiliency.

What is your typical process for working with a new clients?

Once you let us know you would like to start services. You will receive a call to set an appointment date and time. After that call you will receive a welcome email with the initial paperwork and my phone number in case you need to reschedule prior to the appointment. Next, show up for your appointment with the initial paperwork and a photo id and insurance card if you are using insurance. The initial session is to gather some history about you and delve a bit deeper into what it is you would like to work on in therapy. At the end of the first session you can schedule the next session or determine if you would like to make it a weekly/bi-weekly or monthly recurring session.
