I have worked on behalf of children and families for more than 23 years.  I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor in the State of Illinois, and received my Master’s Degree in Counseling Psychology from Chicago State University.  I have vast experience providing individual, group, and family counseling, as well as marital counseling, working with children, adolescents, and adults.  I have addressed such clinical issues as, depression, PTSD, bi-polar disorder, ADHD, child physical and sexual abuse, self-harming behaviors, parent/child relational issues, domestic violence, abuse and neglect of adults with disabilities and the elderly, human trafficking, and other clinical issues.  I am a Licensed Child Welfare Specialist in Illinois, certified in Reality Therapy, and formally trained in Attachment, Regulation and Self-Competency, (ARC), an evidenced-based, comprehensive framework for working with traumatized children and youth.  I am also certified in domestic violence and sexual assault, and has also been trained in trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy, parent-child interaction therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, and numerous other clinical trainings.  My ultimate goal as a practitioner is to help you as an individual improve your life through enhanced insight, better self-refection, and the awareness of their power to create a healthier space for yourself.

What is your typical process for working with a new clients?

Once you let us know you would like to start services. You will receive a call to set an appointment date and time. After that call you will receive a welcome email with the initial paperwork and my phone number in case you need to reschedule prior to the appointment. Next, show up for your appointment with the initial paperwork and a photo id and insurance card if you are using insurance. The initial session is to gather some history about you and delve a bit deeper into what it is you would like to work on in therapy. At the end of the first session you can schedule the next session or determine if you would like to make it a weekly/bi-weekly or monthly recurring session.

Insurance co-pay or session charge is usually collected at the end of the session.
